Who We Are

We're the informationists for interprofessional education and practice initiatives at the University of Michigan. You'll see us around at IPE workgroup meetings and at events like IPE in Action and Health Professions Education Day!

Emily Capellari (left) has a Master's degree in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor's degree in Allied Medical Professions. She has worked at the University of Michigan since 2014 and is a member of the Center for Interprofessional Education (C-IPE) Educator Development workgroup.

Kathryn Vanderboll (right) holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science, and has worked at the University of Michigan since 2018. She is a member of the C-IPE Experiential Innovation workgroup.

What We Do

Education

  • Offer guest lectures in IPE courses that involve student research. Possible topics include:
    • Identifying resources
    • Finding data and health statistics
    • Advanced literature searching
    • Organizing sources (citation management, etc.)
  • Advise on course reading material selection

Research

  • Offer one-on-one or group consultations covering topics such as:
    • Search strategy development
    • Research tools (citation management, data visualization, etc.)
    • Literature review methodologies
  • Advise on the publication process and possible venues for IPE scholarship
