Social Work: Program Evaluation

A collection of resources for faculty, students and researchers interested in program evaluation.

Before You Get Started

Make sure you familiarize yourself with your institution's policies and guidelines on research and how this relates to program evaluation. At the University of Michigan,  for example the Office of the Vice-President of Research provides resources on safe and confidential human research and has a Human Research Protection Program. The Health Sciences and Behavioral Sciences Institutional Review Boards (HSBS IRB) are responsible for protecting people who take part in research projects at this university and provide education for researchers.

You may be asked to take the University of Michigan's Program for Education and Evaluation in Responsible Research and Scholarship (PEERRS), a web-based series of instruction which is used to certify members of the University community engaged in research. The IRB offers a number of workshops each term which are open to U-M faculty, staff and students.

Make sure you look at other library research guides, linked on the left-hand side of this page.
