Launched in April 2018, VCN is a broad group of U-M faculty, staff, alumni, and community members working to drive the University of Michigan toward carbon neutrality consistent with the urgency of the 2019 IPCC report and President Schlissel’s announcement on Oct. 4, 2018 to establish a President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality (PCNN).

Core team responsible for developing recommendations for how to achieve carbon neutrality for U-M, as well as develop scalable and transferable strategies that can be used by other institutions and larger communities to achieve the same goal.

Planet Blue is a cross-university initiative to organize sustainability initiatives and promote awareness across campus.

The Student Sustainability Initiative provides a forum for student leaders at the University of Michigan to discuss the ethical, environmental, and social concerns of sustainability.

The Office of Campus Sustainability (OCS) serves as a focal point for sustainable campus operations. They are the primary resource for info on waste reduction and energy management on campus, along with data about U-M's sustainability goals.

Funded jointly by the University of Michigan and the Graham Foundation, the GESI works with students, researchers, and members of the community and industry to advance multidisciplinary research and education in environmental sustainability.

A multi-year effort designed to measure and track the culture of sustainability on the University of Michigan's (U-M) Ann Arbor campus. It is intended to inform U-M officials and others responsible for day-to-day operations of the University including its academic programs
