Jacqueline Freeman is an Informationist at the Taubman Health Sciences Library. She works with faculty and students from the School of Kinesiology, the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Jacqueline's professional interests include instruction, literature searching, and mentoring. She provides information expertise and consultation, partners with faculty and students for education and research, and contributes to departmental committees and projects.

Jacqueline is a member of the Medical Library Association (MLA), the Midwest Chapter of MLA, and the Michigan Health Sciences Libraries Association (MHSLA). She is also a member of the African American Medical Librarian’s Alliance (AAMLA), a special interest group of MLA, which is committed to providing leadership and support on a variety of issues including the recruitment and retention of diverse librarians, developing mentoring and leadership for minority librarians, and creating a repository of information on the expert skills and special abilities of minority librarians in MLA, particularly those of African American descent.

Jacqueline graduated with a Masters of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University in 2016. She also earned a Master of Arts in English from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts in French and English from Kalamazoo College.

Jacqueline started her work at the Taubman Health Sciences Library in the Summer of 2016. Prior to that, she worked in Print Acquisitions as an Information Resources Assistant at the Hatcher Graduate Library at U-M, while pursuing the library science degree. Experience owning an independent bookstore and grassroots literacy work in the non-profit sector gave rise to her library career.
