
To create alerts in Scopus, you must be signed into your Scopus user account using the Sign In button in the upper right corner.
To create a subject search alert:
- Run a search from the Search or Advanced Search page on your topic of interest. Okay to use complex search strings, boolean operators, and apply any filters you want; Subject, Keyword, Document Type, etc.
- Click on Set search alert on the left.
- Choose options for your alerts.

To create a document citation alert:
- Run a search from the Search or Advanced Search page to find documents for which you want to create an alert.
- Open the full record for the article.
- Click on Set Citation Alert.
- Choose options for your alerts.

To create an author alert:
- Run a search from the Author tab to find the author's profile page.
- Click on the Set alert button.
- Choose options for your alerts.
