Sami representation
The Sami convene parliaments in their respective countries. They also collaborate across borders, and are represented on various international bodies.
Though Sami of the Kola Peninsula have moved to establish a Sami Parliament of Russia on the model of Sami Parliaments in the other three countries, this body is not recognized by the Russian government and currently has no web presence.

- Saami CouncilThe Saami Council is a nongovernmental organization representing nine member organizations in the four countries.
Intergovernmental Organizations
- Arctic Council Indigenous Peoples' SecretariatThe Sami are among the indigenous groups represented in the Arctic Council. The work of the various groups is coordinated by the Indigenous Peoples' Secretariat.
- United Nations Division for Social Policy and Development : Indigenous PeoplesThe UN addresses indigenous issues, both in general and specific to the Sami, in a number of ways. These include the Permanant Forum, an indigenous advisory board; the Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples adopted in 2007; and numerous conferences, reports, and committees.
