Within the text of your report, ASCE uses an author-date method, for example (Smith 2004; Smith and Jones 2004). Your report must include a references section with all references listed alphabetically by last name of the first author. References must be published works only, with theses, dissertations, and forthcoming articles as exceptions to this rule.
