About NIHMS Processing

Important Message

Please note that due to a contract issue, the NIHMS is processing manuscripts slower than the standard 2-3 week turnaround. We are working towards a quick resolution and in the meantime, NIH has temporarily waived public access compliance requirements as a condition of processing awards. When this situation is resolved, PIs will be again required to ensure full compliance for their papers.

What PIs should do:

  •  Continue to submit manuscripts to the NIHMS as they would normally.

  •  Link their paper with any applicable awards in My Bibliography.

  • Click on link below for My Bibliography instructions.
  • Respond to all NIHMS notifications / approval requests in a timely manner.

Please contact if you have any questions about funding and be sure to include the applicable award number(s).
