Art & Design

This guide provides information about basic art and design resources at the University of Michigan.

Web Resources for Audio and Video Files

There are many publically available collections of video and audio files. Of course, one must consider copyright laws when downloading anything from the web. Here are some sites that offer downloadable video and sound files.

Imageworks is located on the second floor of the Art, Architecture & Engineering Library. Slides and videos circulate to UM affiliates with a valid ID. Slide duplication services are available, as are video and slide viewing stations.

In addition, the University of Michigan has access to a wide range of digital image databases. For more information on these databases and on the collection of visual resources, please see the Images Guide.

Visit the Imageworks Blog to find all sorts of useful information about ARTstor, AP Photo Archive, Sources for Medical Images and more.

Digital Image Databases

For a complete list of image databases go to Search Tools and select "find databases." From there select the "by keyword" tab and select type "images."
