Change the drop-down search field menu (to the left of the search box) to Subject for each line
In the first search box, enter a set of words to represent your ethnic/immigrant group
[Country] OR [Ethnicity/Nationality] OR ["Ethnicity/Nationality American"]
Combine the set of like terms together with OR in-between each term in order to expand your search on all possible keyword variations
Use quotation marks around "exact phrases"
[Country] OR [Ethnicity/Nationality] OR ["Ethnicity/Nationality American"] |
In the second search box, enter keyword variations for the concept of migration or immigration:
Migration is more often used for movement within boundaries like regional or political borders where immigration/emigration refers to migration or relocation from one country to another
immigrants OR immigration OR migration |
In the third search box, enter the name of the country or region to which your group immigrated:
for example:
"United States" |
Make sure that AND is selected between each separate row of search boxes
Click the blue "Advanced Search" button to run the search
