American State Papers

The American State Papers contain the Congressional documents during the period 1789 to 1838. There are 38 volumes arranged into ten topical classes.

US Congressional Serial Set

First published in the 15th Congress 1817, this is an especially rich source for 19th Century American history because it incorporated the exploratory surveys, maps, Civil War pensioners, lighthouses, Census and immigration data.
