Using This Guide

This guide contains resources to help you start your research related to Germanic languages and literatures. These include resources for searching the library catalog, finding physical or electronic materials, databases, primary resources, and more.

You can also contact your library specialist (contact information on the left) for additional assistance, which may include:

  • Navigating the library's collections to find resources relevant to your research
  • Locating and/or purchasing materials to support your instruction or research

Finding Library Materials

The Library has millions of books, journals, films, sound recordings, electronic resources and more. To find the best resources for your research, use the Library Search. Refer to the Tips for Using Library Search guide for general information on searching the catalog.

 

Use WorldCat to search multiple library catalogs at once, including U-M Library Catalog. Titles that are not available through U-M may be easily requested via the Interlibrary Loan from the WorldCat record.
