A Korean DH Project:
the Archive of the Korean National Debt Redemption Movement
The National Debt Redemption Movement (NDRM국채보상운동 國債補償運動) is a movement to defend economic sovereignty initiated by the Korean people to repay the predatory loans forced by Japan from 1907 to 1910. Many valuable records of historical, cultural and zeitgeist significance were created during this movement. The Commemorative Association of the NDRM has established a digital archive of more than 6,000 manuscripts, 2,475 of which are registered as UNESCO Memory of the World.
