Book Arts Studio at the Art, Architecture & Engineering Library
This studio offers metal and wooden type, pictorial printing ornaments, platen presses, and other book making equipment and supplies. Access is by appointment or during open studio time on Fridays from 11am-4pm during the fall and winter semesters. Contact bookartsstudio@umich.edu.
Design Lab Workshop at the Shapiro Library
The workshop offers letterpresses, a laser cutter, engraving machine, digital die-cutting machine, 3D printers, sewing machine, and soldering station. Users are asked to write a post about their work on the blog, Lab Notes. Access requires completing brief online training modules that cover policies, procedures, and hardware.
