Publishing your accepted articles in RSC journals as open access free of charge

Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has announced their Gold-for-Gold program that enables researchers to publish their paper in RSC journals free of charge, as a Gold Open Access (OA) article, without paying the normal Article Publication Fee (APF). Since MLibrary subscribes to the RSC Gold package, we have received voucher codes to distribute to authors at the University of Michigan. MLibrary will distribute these vouchers on a first-come, first-served basis while we have them.

Current Voucher Availability: Available

Each voucher code can be used to publish a communication, full paper, review or technical note under the RSC's Gold OA option in RSC journals .

Having met these format criteria, the article must be:

  • Accepted for publication in an RSC journal. A voucher code cannot be used until an article has been accepted.

  • New (i.e. voucher codes cannot be used for articles that have already been published)

  • Authored by a researcher based at the University of Michigan

See Gold-for-Gold FAQ page for more information.

If you have an article accepted by a RSC journal but is not yet published, please request a voucher by filling in this form. We will process the forms in the order they are received and send you the voucher code and further instructions while we have vouchers available. We will respond to your request in a timely manner and hopefully not cause any delay of the publishing process. Please contact the Chemistry Librarian, Ye Li, at liye@umich.edu for any questions.
