Finding Scores & Recordings

Use the Library Catalog to search for scores and recordings.

Title searching works well when searching for books and journals; however, 'All Fields' searching is recommended when looking for musical scores and recordings because it can be difficult to predict how a title will appear on a score or CD.

If you know the composer and title, combine terms from both for your search on the 'Advanced Search' page.

Since 'All Fields' searching allows you to search any element of the bibliographic record, you can specify a particular performer, publisher, or other requirement in your search.

You can refine your search using either the options on the Advanced Search page or the 'Filter your search' options on the left-hand side of the results screen. Format limiting is particularly useful when searching for music.
