Regulations

Federal Register and Code of Federal Regulations

The Federal Register includes federal agency regulations, proposed rules, public notices, and presidential documents.  You can access the Federal Register through FDSys (1994 - present), HeinOnline (1936 - present) and ProQuest Congressional (1981 - present).

The Code of Federal Regulations has the current regulations in force and can also be accessed through FDSys (1996 - present), HeinOnline (1938 - present) and ProQuest Congressional (1981 - present).

Presidential Communications

Presidential communications consist of executive orders, proclamations, directives, and administrative orders.  You can find presidential communications in the following resources:

Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents - published every Monday and is the official publication of presidential statements, messages, remarks, and other materials released by the White House Press Secretary.

Public Papers of the Presidents - contains material that was compiled and published by the Office of the Federal Register, National Archives and Records Administration. It includes volumes covering the administrations of Presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton. As subsequent volumes are published, they will be added online.

Whitehouse.gov - provides access to presidential actions, press briefings, speeches and remarks, and nominations and appointments.
