Responses and reactions to persecution

Persecution and Survival

Throughout Jewish history there have been incidents of persecution.  These incidents, whether localized or continental, minor or catastrophic, have had an impact upon the way in which the course of Jewish history has played out.  The objects and books in the Jewish Heritage Collection reflect both the acts of persecution and the persistent desire of the Jewish people to survive and thrive.  As such, the JHC contains a significant collection of anti-Semetic materials and artifacts in addition to works produced by survivors and descendants of anti-Semetic violence or persecution.
