Finding Species Information: Introduction

A guide for finding factual information about particular plant and animal species.

This guide and its contents were originally developed by Jean Jones.

The Shapiro Science Library's collection includes information in print and electronic formats on many species. This research guide offers a sample of available resources on various species that can be found in select databases and websites. At this time, species covered are from the animal or plant kingdom only. Material is arranged in 3 types of access: Electronic resources (i.e. indexes and databases), Web resources, Print Reference resources (e.g. directories, dictionaries).
