Primary Sources in U.S. History: Guides to Microforms
An index to numerous microfilm collections of primary documents on U.S. history. Entries identify the collection, reel number and frame number of each document. Many of the microfilm sets are owned by the U-M Library and the others can be borrowed via Interlibrary Loan.

United States Social Security Death Index
Freely accessible version of the U.S. Social Security Administration's Death Master File (DMF) mounted on Intellectual Reserve, Inc.'s FamilySearch website, a commercial genealogy service. A file of all deaths reported to SSA from sources other than States (including family members, funeral homes, hospitals, Federal agencies, postal authorities and financial institutions), beginning around 1936.

Contains complete 1990 US census data for all block groups, and county statistics from 1790 to 1996. (Available at the Map Library in the Hatcher Graduate Library building.)
